A Christmas message from Warren, Medwyn, Richard, James….and everyone at
Hadlow Edwards Wealth Management Limited

As you may recall, last year we included a note in our 2010 Christmas cards explaining it would be the last time we sent these to our valued clients and colleagues. We know how generous you all are and we took this decision as we felt it more appropriate to instead make a donation to charity. Therefore, in lieu of sending Christmas cards this year, we are donating £1,000 to charity. This will be split between the St. James's Place Foundation, whose admirable work it is always a pleasure to support, and the local organisation Nicola’s Fund. Nicola’s Fund aims to improve the quality of life of children with cancer while supporting their families. You can learn more about both of these wonderful charities at their websites or see our Links section.

Finally, we at Hadlow Edwards wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Farewell and good luck to Simon

National Eisteddfod of Wales 2011

The National Eisteddfod of Wales took place during the first week of August 2011. The event was a great success, with over 150,000 attendees over the course of the week. Medwyn was Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Iola a member of the local Offa committee, which successfully reached their financial targets.

The local organisers worked very hard to make the event a success, putting Wrexham and the surrounding area firmly on the map.

Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru 2011

Cynhaliwyd Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Cymru yn Wrecsam yn ystod wythnos gyntaf Awst, 2011. Roedd yr ŵyl yn llwyddiant ysgubol, gyda dros i 150,000 o bobl yn ymweld â’r maes yn ystod yr wythnos. Roedd Medwyn yn Gadeirydd y Pwyllgor Cyllid, a Iola yn aelod o bwyllgor apêl Offa, a gwelwyd llwyddiant gan iddynt gyrraedd eu targedau ariannol.

Bu’r trefnwyr lleol yn gweithio yn galed iawn i sicrhau llwyddiant yr ŵyl, ac i roi Wrecsam a’r ardal ar y map.

St. James's Place 5k / 10k Multi-Terrain Run - 7 August 2011

The St. James's Place Foundation was established in 1992, funded during the first seven years entirely by members of the Partnership and employees of the Group. In 1999, the shareholders of St. James's Place agreed that, in future, the Company should match, pound for pound, all monies raised by Partners and Staff. At present we give vital funds to UK registered charities whose work is based on our two main themes “Cherishing the Children” and “The Hospice Movement”.

Sunday 7th August was a proud day for the St. James's Place Foundation and for Hadlow Edwards Wealth Management Limited. Every year, St. James's Place employees join top athletes for a 5k and 10k Multi Terrain “Fun Run” challenge within Cirencester Park to raise money for the Foundation. This year much needed funds have been raised for worthy causes and we are delighted that the Hadlow Edwards’ sponsored runners, Ben and Harri Coldray, nephews of our Warren and Angela Hadlow, came 1st and 10th respectively!

Harri is just 16 and in a field of over 200 came a very creditable 10th.

Ben is a 19 year old Gloucester based athlete who has already represented the Great Britain Junior Athletics team and the England Senior Team in middle distance events. He is the former UK Junior Cross Country Champion and holds several UK all time age group records for a range of distances. He is now targeting the European Under 20's and is striving to make the Great Britain Team for the Rio 2016 Olympics. In September this year he starts at St. Mary's University College in Twickenham and like most junior athletes is working hard on raising sponsorship. Just a little under 6.5 miles – in a little over 33 minutes!

Warren and Angela both plan to run in the event next year – so this time will never be seen again!

We would like to update you on our charitable donations and how you, our clients, are assisting. As you know, for every new client kindly referred to Hadlow Edwards Wealth Management Limited, we make a donation to our local palliative care hospice. We are delighted to inform you the total raised for the first 6 months of 2011 is £650. Please accept our sincere thanks, both for your referrals to Hadlow Edwards, and for assisting the wonderful work of Nightingale House.

If you would like to recommend our services to your family and friends, please click on the link below, and a sum of £25 will be donated to Nightingale House for each new client referred to us.
